Nino was a musician, a keyboard player in several rock bands in our home city Banja Luka, then in Yugoslavia. He had to move from there during the Civil War, and lived in Zagreb, Croatia where he lived since. There he played in several bands, eventually developing interes towards jazz. Our mothers were very close friends, and I studied at the same university with his sister in Zagreb. He was one of those goodhearted, mild mannered persons one would only wish to have as a friend.
